Making a booking. Bookings are confirmed only when we have accepted them and any required deposit has been paid. Submitting a request does not guarantee a space.
Deposits. We may require a deposit to hold a reservation. Deposits are applied to your final balance. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Required information. Before your pet’s first stay you must provide current vaccination records, your veterinarian’s details, an emergency contact, and written details of any medication, dietary requirement, or behavioral issue.
Vaccinations. All dogs must be current on rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. All cats must be current on rabies and FVRCP. We may require proof before admission and may decline an animal without it. We may also require canine influenza vaccination during an outbreak.
Health and behaviour. You must disclose any history of aggression, bite incident, escape attempt, separation anxiety, or contagious illness. We may decline or end a stay if an animal poses a risk to itself, to other animals, or to our staff. If we end a stay early for this reason, you or your emergency contact must collect the animal promptly.
Intact animals, illness, and parasites. We may decline animals in heat, animals showing signs of contagious illness, or animals with untreated fleas or ticks. Where treatment is needed for the safety of other animals, we may administer it and bill you at cost.
Authorization to seek veterinary care. By leaving your pet with us you authorize Tails to Serenity to obtain emergency veterinary treatment if, in our reasonable judgment, it is needed and you cannot be reached. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you and then your emergency contact first. You are responsible for the cost of that treatment, including transport.
Medication. We administer medication as instructed in writing. We are not veterinary professionals and do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
Assumption of risk. Group play, boarding, and grooming carry inherent risks including injury, illness, transmission of contagious disease, stress, and escape, even with attentive supervision. You accept those risks.
Our responsibility. We will exercise reasonable care. We are not liable for injury, illness, or death arising from a pre-existing condition, an undisclosed condition, the ordinary risks of group play, or your failure to disclose relevant information. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Grooming. Grooming outcomes depend on coat condition and temperament. Severely matted coats may require a short clip, and clipping matted coats carries a risk of nicks, clipper irritation, and revealing pre-existing skin conditions. We will contact you before making a significant change to a requested style where practical.
This is a notice California law requires us to give you.
Under California Civil Code section 1834.5, if you do not collect your animal within 14 calendar days after the date the animal was originally due to be collected, the animal is deemed abandoned.
If your animal is deemed abandoned, we are required to spend at least 10 days attempting to find it a new owner before taking any other step permitted by law.
You remain responsible for all boarding charges accrued up to the point of abandonment.
If something has gone wrong and you cannot collect your pet on time, contact us. This clause exists because the law requires it, not because we want to use it. We work with people in crisis and we understand that plans change, programs extend, and discharge dates move. Extensions are almost always possible if you tell us. Silence is the only thing we cannot work with.
We release animals only to you or to a person you have authorized in writing. Photo identification may be required.
Late collection outside our stated hours may incur an additional charge. Where an animal is not collected and we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, Section 4 applies.
We offer subsidized boarding for people entering treatment programs, domestic violence shelters, medical care, or housing transitions.
Eligibility is assessed individually. Availability is limited and funded by our community services and donations.
We may ask for information sufficient to assess eligibility. We will not ask for clinical or diagnostic information.
A referral from a treatment center, shelter, hospital, or case manager can help but is not required.
Subsidized placements are subject to the same care, health, and vaccination terms as all other stays.
Confidentiality protections for these placements are set out in our Privacy Policy, Section 3.
Sliding-scale rates and scholarship awards are made at our discretion and do not create an ongoing entitlement.
Our own products. Items branded Tails to Serenity and sold directly by us are fulfilled by us or by our print-on-demand partner.
Print-on-demand items. Apparel, hats, and similar branded goods are produced and shipped by a third-party fulfillment partner. Production time is additional to shipping time. Slight variations in color and placement are normal and are not defects.
Pricing and availability. Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice. We may correct pricing errors and cancel affected orders with a full refund. Availability is not guaranteed.
Shipping. Delivery estimates are estimates. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for carrier delays.
Returns. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

When you follow one of these links, you leave our site and buy from Amazon. Amazon is the seller. Amazon’s terms, prices, availability, shipping, warranty, and return policies apply, not ours. We cannot process a return, refund, or exchange for anything bought on Amazon.
We recommend these items because we believe in them. We do not control their pricing, stock, or the accuracy of Amazon’s product listings, and commission does not influence what we recommend.
We accept major credit and debit cards through Elavon, and offer Affirm financing where you qualify. Affirm is an independent provider; approval, terms, and interest are set by Affirm and are a matter between you and them.
Complete card numbers are handled by our payment providers, not by us. See Privacy Policy, Section 1.
You are responsible for all charges incurred, including veterinary costs authorized under Section 3 and late collection fees under Section 5.
You may use this site for lawful purposes only. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, scrape it systematically, or copy our content, photographs, logo, or branding without permission.

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may photograph your pet during their stay for your report cards and, with permission, for our website and social media. We will not publish any image without your written consent, and never in connection with your name or circumstances. You may withdraw consent at any time and we will remove the image from anything we control. See Privacy Policy, Section 3.
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, our total liability arising from any service or product is limited to the amount you paid for that service or product. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
Before starting a formal action, please contact us. Most problems can be resolved directly, and we would rather fix something than argue about it.
We may update these terms. The effective date above will change and material changes will be posted here. Bookings already confirmed are governed by the terms in effect when they were made.
